Mitten State Match Up

Grand Raggidy Roller Girls welcomed the Detroit Derby Girls for the Mitten
State Match UP on May 19, 2007. This was the first time Grand Raggidy
hosted an interleague travel team game.
Grand Raggidy came out of the gates running during the first period claiming
lead jam 11 out of 15 jams. GRRG held the lead and it was a close period but
they were not able to match Honey Suckit's 12 point jam ultimately helping
Detroit gain the lead ending the period with a score of 33 to 24.
The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls were not going to let that stop them. The
second period was just as exciting with some hard hits dished out by Bette
Mangler and Angie Warhaul. The teams remained neck and neck closing the
period with Detroit leading 64 to 50.
Grand Raggidy closed the gap with Make Ya Dizzy Lizzy scoring 15 points and
Mira MaHeniey scoring 14, but it just wasn't enough to take the lead. The
game ended with a score of Grand Raggidy Roller Girls 87 Detroit Derby Girls
95.
Grand Raggidy Roller Girls played their first interleague travel team bout
against Detroit in December of 2006 and suffered a heart breaking loss by 67
points. The All Stars trained hard over the last 5 months to show the
Mitten State they are a force to be reckoned with!
