Deep in Cajun voodoo country, a blood-curdling scream tore through the traveling "Cuttthroat Carnivale" campground, awakening all and lasting throughout the night. The cries emanated from the Roustabout tent, where the mysterious and reviled Bearded Lady slept.
But the cries were not hers - for as the night wore on, the Bearded Lady birthed a litter of twelve healthy - but strangely ferocious - little girls. Each one emerged, more bizarre than the last. The girls grew into women- each honing a special, often lethal - skill. As the years passed,the troupe traveled across the country, leaving a wake of destruction and carnage in their skate tracks. Eventually driven from their beloved Carnivale, the girls were rejected by even the most fringe carnivals, and were banned from California to Connecticut. The Roustabout Rollers retreated deep into the woods with nothing but their skates and one other to survive. There, they trained for a new life on the derby track.
Enough to drive men to drink and women to an early grave; don't trust these Roustabouts. Though they may seem at first glance to be a barrel of laughs, they'd just as soon skin you alive and eat you, than to let you into their secret, cutt-throat world.
